Happy Weekend everyone. I am hoping for, what I call, a 'scrap booking bender' (when nothing except scrapping happens). It was a tough one though - go and visit this little man or catch up on some scrapping (3 weeks until DD birthday and her album needs to be done). Decision made - scrap this weekend, visit next weekend so the pics sent through this morning will have to suffice.
Too cute....
Have a great weekend. The sun is shining here today so hope it is for you too.
Thanks for visiting -
Until next time ....

Simply Paper
Today in NZ has been a very emotional day - one year on from the devastating Christchurch Earthquake and TV has replayed many images of that day, 22 February 2011, but also told the stories of many survivors, rescuers, people who lost loved ones, lost their precious buildings and homes, how people are coping with their situations and more. The stories are inspirational, the people are amazing as they continue to rebuild their communities and lives. Caring thoughts are with you all.
Vicky Alberto's blog post title is "Spread the Love" and she is celebrating 2 years of blogging on 25 February and now has over 800 followers in that time by having a 'blue' Giveaway. Check out the details at Simply Paper here.
Looks like a super collection of blue embellishments and papers.
Another day has passed by and still the scrap room waits... so sorry - nothing else to share yet.
Thanks for stopping by.
Until next time....

Creative Scrappers
I have finally had a minute or two to download the E-Book I was lucky enough to win on Bixie's Planet Blog last week. There is certainly lots of inspiration in the 100 sketches in it together with example layouts from world wide scrappers.
The book was created by Kristine Davidson and more information on the Author and how to get your copy can be found here.
I now just need to clean out my scrap room and find some scrapping time. The week is whizzing by. Hope your week is going well.
Bye for now....

Just a Quick Hello
I am aware I haven't posted on my blog in a while and I have been reminded...lol. I have been creating, well that was last weekend, but as yet haven't had time to journal and take photos of the layouts as I was away this weekend. ...a wonderful weekend in the sun of Central Otago - good company, good music - a really enjoyable couple of days.
So today is a really quick post with a really quick card. I made it for DH's birthday last month, while up camping and while he was asleep in the chair late in the afternoon of his actual birthday.
Webster's Pages canoe paper was perfect for a kayaker.
So will leave it at that - short and sweet.
Wishing you a wonderful week and may the sun shine on those areas which have been shrouded in cloud for too many days in a row. It feels like summer has been stolen from us.
Thanks for Visiting...
Until next time ...

A Tissue Cottage
I am having a nice quiet long weekend - I have done a couple of chores, been for my walk while the photos were being processed, had a salad lunch picked from the garden and now just before I head to my scrap room I thought I would post something I created early last year. It is almost completely Prima papers, flowers and embellishment although there are some Wild Orchid ones in there too.
The inspiration for this project and the template comes from my parents. In the late 80's early 90's Mum and my hobby was dried flowers where we made numerous arrangements and sold them from my home in ''the Cottage' and also at fairs and swap meets. Mum's specialty was little hessian tissue cottages decorated with dried flowers. She covered the template (cardboard cut outs produced by Dad) with hessian and then sewed and glued them together before decorating with dried flowers. This is now the paper version still using one of the original bases although the tissue boxes are now produced smaller so I added a base to the bottom to hold the new size in. .
The back side view below. Sport the Dusty Attic pieces on three sides.
Martha Stewart Vintage lace Punch used for the roof.
Prima felt rubons were used on the side below.
It was consequently given as a gift at Christmas so one day I may make another.
Right must head off to the scrap room - so many projects in mind that I don't know where to start. Hopefully I will be back by the end of the weekend with something if the mojo gets cranking.
Enjoy your weekend. Thanks so much for visiting today.
Until next time....

A Christmas Cracker Recycled
Baby's 1st Christmas Cracker turned out to be a disappointment. When I bought it I though it would have a little resin or plastic photo frame for a memento - not so - oh well I suppose it was like most Christmas crackers - impressive but not so useful. So rather than sending it to the landfill or recycling centre I decided to recycle it on a page. This was the cracker and packaging.....
Maybe black and white photos may have looked better but these were all I had up camping so this is what I cam up with.
The cracker was flattened and the ends cut off, punched and repositioned to fit the page. The hat was recycled into a frill to frame the photo. Snowflake circles punched from the packaging and mounted on white circles. White Bazzill cardstock was embossed to give some dimension and Martha Stewart punches used for borders. The remaining contents of the cracker are displayed on the page.
It was a little paper frame included which I think looks better on the page that getting lost in the Christmas decorations.
It's hard to believe it is February already. Hope your week is going well. I am looking forward to the upcoming long weekend and aim to devote at least one day to the scrap room.
Thank you for stopping by my blog. Your visits and comments are truly appreciated.
Take Care
