Scrap Your Space

Whew this week has flown by - can't believe it is a week since my last post. It has been a full on week with one thing and another. I work in a secondary school and last weekend tragically one of our students was killed whilst walking home in the night. This kind of news is every parent's worst nightmare. It has had an impact on the wider school community as they come to terms with their loss.

My scrapping group met at my place on Tuesday and eagerly opened and tried out the newly arrived 'Magnolia' stamps available at Embellish It. I confess to not being a great stamper and it took a few attempts before getting some good ones. I just need more practice. The images are very cute and my daughter Esther (visiting for the weekend) and I had a play painting them to embellish Candice's Birthday Card for tomorrow. I will give you a sneak peek of the finished article as my computer is off for maintenance tomorrow so will be without it for a few days. The card was put together very quickly as I was trying to make, ice and send a cake back to Dunedin for her too.
and the inside
...and a quick cake - my favourite to make - Soonafai's Moist Chocky Cake from Jo Segar's 'Sugar & Spice' recipe book. Thank goodness for the little icing butterflies I had in the cupboard which set the theme as I only had a few minutes to get it done before it was on its way south.

Back to the title of this post. Over at Dusty Attic their Scrap your Space competition finished yesterday so it was another quick page to get it up in time. I used DA Body form and music notes, MME papers, a doily, inks, Glimmer mist (tattered leather), punches and took photos of some of the features in my room and cut them out - the title is a kaisercraft wooden sign and the decorated bra made in memory of my grandmother for "Crop for a Cause" and the apron made at "Autumn Escape" NZ in April. Also included are Prima lace and flowers, an old crochet doily and brads.

A busy page for a busy space. It certainly doesn't look that tidy today.

The sun is now shining and it is warm (nor'west) so I am off to try and take some better photos of the ones mentioned last post and I might even clean the car... so much to do and the weekend is almost over.

Have a great week. Thanks for visiting. I will be back once my computer is back.
