For most, thoughts of the beach will be far away today as New Zealand is drenched in rain over the past few days with more to come. My thoughts are with all those for whom the rain is causing havoc i.e. the floods, leaking earthquake damaged houses, land slides etc.
The page I created in the weekend was inspired by the Helmar June challenge and I used HELMAR 450 for the project. It is of my DGS and his little friend having fun at the beach, burying their legs in the sand, sprinkling sand and making footprints in the sand as they wander along (love that photo - so cute). I am going through a patch where I love putting texture on the page so used gel medium for the background and then finger painted with iridescent medium. Papers are from an older Prima range.
and some closeups. I cut an additional beach girl from a separate piece of paper and popped it up on the original one for dimension.
I then used texture paste to put the birds in the right top corner then I used liquid pearls to depict the sprinkling of the sand down the page.
I used my favourite glue HELMAR 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to glue on the wire mesh and all the little shells which I have had in my stash for quite some time and the wire mesh was recycled from the feathers of an ornamental hen which was dismantled also some time ago. Aren't the boys so sweet? - they look like two little men strolling along having a yarn.
Thanks so much for visiting today. I will be back later in the week with some more recent creations.
Until then.... Have a great week.

fabulous Diane - love the texture paste design in the background and how his arm comes out of the page like he is waving! Beautiful job!
