... to take part in this month's Up2Scrap Blog Challenge. You have until Wednesday night to send your entry. Details here. Thank you to everyone who has participated so far. Fellow Up2Scrap Elite team member Sonya Pickles has created a stunning layout - take a look for inspiration.
This week has been spent creating sample wedding invites for my daughter's wedding later in the year so I cannot share them yet. My three girls are coming next weekend to have a working bee making them so that should be fun.
In the meantime I will share another project I am working on - an album for my daughter's friend's little girl. These are the pages so far but this week I found a package of more cute photos in my mail box so now have plenty to carry on with. It is an 8 inch x 8 inch album. The first two pages created with Prima papers with the first containing a bit of experimenting with random quilting.
The next two with Francheville papers. I love the shiny embossed effect but this does not show very well in a photo.and the last two with Kaisercraft "Hey Birdie" collection (leftovers from the last issue of Up2Scrap's project)Hope your weekend is going well. Happy Creating.

Shortest Day
This year is flying by - the shortest day already and what a lovely day it turned out to be after the overnight rain. My s-i-l and I walk most days during my lunch hour and it was perfect sunny day today, accompanied by the family pets Dot and Jess, with views to the sea in one direction and the snowy mountains in the other.
During the weekend I used a gorgeous Prima vine to create my entry in this month's Prima BAP. I am so lucky to have a gorgeous little model too.I am always reluctant to cover up the pretty papers so with a craft knife I cut out some of the features of the paper to overlay and include in the layout. Saved Prima packaging was used to matt the photos and the vine cut in half with the bottom half turned upside down to extend cascade down and finished with some glittery flowers.
I love Prima products and some of my favourite designers have been announced on the new Prima Design Team and what great news that two of our own NZ designers are on the team. Congratulations to Trina McClune and Nic Howard on their successes. Other favourites are Ingrid Bolme-Norway, Janine Koczwara-Australia and Iris Babao-Uy-Philipines.
Thanks for visiting. Have a good week.

Something Different
Well last weekend DH hosted some fellow pigeon fanciers for whom he had nurtured and trained their birds from babies. Their 'Young Bird Flying Season' culminated in the Young Bird Classic. For those unfamiliar with pigeon flying the birds were hampered up on Thursday and transported to Blenheim where they were liberated on the Saturday of Queens Birthday Weekend. The first birds were home in 5 hours 18 minutes. For this race 3-bird teams were entered and there were prizes for various individual birds, lofts and teams home.
It was a perfect day for pigeon flying (considering the weather that followed for the rest of the weekend) and DH was lucky enough to get the first 3-bird team home. Individuals in his loft came 4th, 7th and 9th overall and the 9th placed recipient was a visitor from down south who received a scraper for his bird's achievement. He seemed a tad disappointed with his trophy (lol) so a bit of scheming saw the prize left behind and a bit of art work at the engravers followed by some creativity in the scrap room and this is the result. Hope he likes it better now!!
I covered an 8 x 10 canvas with Gesso and tissue and let it dry thoroughly over night. I then played around with distress and chalk inks then decorated in corrigated card sprayed with tattered leather Glimmermist, a Dusty Attic bird netting inked with silver, Prima packaging, Hamley print transparency and Kaiser scrolls inked then finished with Antique Bronze Kindy Glitz and finished with a little vine and leaves.
Dusty Attic laser cuts are available at Embellish It Ltd.
I will leave you with a card made for a friend's birthday a couple of weeks ago.
Take Care and have a good week.

Maud
I am not managing to get much creating done this week but will type a quick post while my scrap room is warming up. It was minus 3 here this morning - ....brrrrrr. Slightly warmer tonight and +2 expected in the morning.
A few weeks ago (before I started my blog) I entered Trina's Challenge at Addicted to Scrap. The challenge was to include journalling, be about yourself and use Prima products. I am not too keen on scrapping photos of myself so chose my 1st car. I had had a trip down memory lane at Easter when I came out of the supermarket to find one (a mm just like I used to have) parked next to me and then we passed heaps of them on our trip to Dunedin. I don't know what become of mine as after a couple of years sitting under a tree DH gave it to the Morris Minor Club along with his Morrie van. Here is the page I came up with.
Materials used - Prima papers, flowers and pearls. I tucked the ownership papers behind the circle with a brad and key attached (not riginal but a replica).
Well must off to the warmed scrap room and make use of it.
Bye for now .. Dianne

Up2Scrap June Challenge
It is my turn to create the sketch and challenge for the Up2Scrap blog this month. In keeping with my passion for heritage the topic is 'Memorabilia'. However I ended us with two examples - one Heritage and a Modern one so there is something for everyone.
and a recent one.
So pop over to the Up2Scrap Blog to see the sketch and find out the details and I encourage you to have a go.
It could be a good long weekend project! Have a great long weekend.
