A camera page with SATW

It was certainly a fresh start to a new week here in South Canterbury - a frost and then a beautiful winter day.

Yesterday I finally put together a page I have been planning/thinking about for almost 4 weeks now.  Just at the time this month's challenge at Scrap Around the World came out my Dad had just finished dismantling his old Voigtlander camera with which he took all our childhood slides.  He concluded that the Germans made very good cameras, the way it was all put together and it took him two days to pull it apart with a view of me using bits and pieces in the recently discovered Finnabair style pages.  Well I have certainly put lots of the parts to use already on this page.  Here is the mood board and sketch.
I was inspired by the camera's of course and the upper left and lower right colour schemes.

Here is my take 'VOIGHTLANDER'  using Tim Holtz papers.

Random punching around the edge added to the rustic look of the page.  Silks paint on bubble wrap was used randomly on the page.
Above and below - lots of bits and bobs from the inside of the camera.  Tim Holtz filmstrip also added to the page.
Below are photos taken with the camera way back then.....  Parts of the camera were used as the 'string' for the banner.   Banners were punched with a 'Stamping Up' punch.
The camera was used all over NZ and some overseas holidays as well (all around the world lol)
That's me under the lens which doubled as the title of the layout. .
For the background I used some fibre which had been received around a bunch of flowers - cut it to a shape, masked it and spread tinted texture paste over the area before lifting it off to leave a textured pattern as below.
Below is a snap from my lunchtime walk today.  We live by the sea and at the moment this is the view to the mountains - quite spectacular really and of course it looks much better in the flesh than the photo can do justice to. Also the beach usually looks better but the high and heavy seas of the last week have deposited all sorts of debris there.

Thank you so much for visiting today.  Your visits are truly appreciated and I would love to know you have been by leaving a comment.

Have a good week.

Until next time.
Dianne

Amazing page Dianne, and I love the photo of where you walk/live. It's so amazing how in the SI we can walk along a beach but have snow capped mountains behind us.
