Too Cute

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

Today I am sharing a little card I will enter the Cute Card Thursday Challenge # 338 "Too Cute".

I made it for my Great Nephew, who too is very cute.

Patterned papers are Prima.  Image and sentiment is Lili of the Valley and Grunge board number is Tim Holtz.

and of course finished with come liquid pearls and kindy glitz.

I have to say just for a change it was made in super quick time (not something that usually happens but I may use this design again.)

Thanks again for looking.

Until next time....

Autumn Leaves

I must be on a roll..........  I managed to do a last minute layout for Stuck 15 August Challenge.  Continuing with the Autumn Bo Bunny papers I like how it all came together using five photos of Zac's Easter photo shoot playing in the leaves.

The ruler is a Prima

and the 'Stuck' Sketch for 15th of the month challenge. It is a great page for lots of photos.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit today.  Have a great week.

Until next time....

PS - Oops - too late as it closed on 29 August.  Never mind I got another page done regardless.

Dusty Attic - Jake

Good afternoon.  Thank you for visiting my blog today.  Have I really blogged 3 times this week? - must be on a roll after the Scrap retreat last weekend.

I started this layout last weekend with the Bo Bunny 'Autumn Song' range of papers which suited the autumn photo shoot photos beautifully.  And finally finished it last night for this month's Dusty Attic Sketch Challenge.

I really dug deep into my stash to find the felt leaf trim which I have had for years but finally found a use for it and the mini leaves which I have had in my stash since the beginning of my scrapping days almost 10 years ago.

and the sketch

I hope you are enjoying the weekend.  It has been a nice spring day here today and has gone too fast with an appointment this morning followed by a visit to the farmers market and a 3 year old birthday party.  The housework is still beckoning (tomorrow is another day lol). I just wanna scrapbook!!!

That's it for today

Until next time....

Family Photo

Back again....  Thank you for stopping by today.

Today I am posting another layout  - a photo of my DD#2's family.

Created with Kaisercraft papers (I think), Prima tags, Manor House doily together with some moulding paste and liquid pearls.  Quite a simple page for me but I am pleased with it.

I have joined in with the Stuck 1 August Challenge with this one.

Thanks again for visiting.  I will be back in the weekend with some of last weekend's creations.

Natalie May

Happy Mid-week.  Hope it is going well for you.  Thanks for visiting.

Today's share goes back a bit to Autumn Escape at Taupo at the end of April.  I attended a Natalie May class and thoroughly enjoyed it.  It was perfect for the photos I was lucky enough to have as they were taken just a few days before.   Love Natalie's style - go and check out her blog Happy Daks.

I am very keen to have another play with this style.  Thanks Natalie for the inspiration and fun class.

That's all for today.

Until next time....

Shabby Chic Bereavement Card

Hello and thank you for visiting today.  I hope you have had a lovely weekend.  I certainly have as finally I got to scrapbook all weekend at the Embellish It Raincliff Retreat and I think I have my mojo back.  It was lovely to catch up and be inspired and share ideas with like-minded crafters.

Today I am sharing a Bereavement Card I made for a friend, on the passing of her mother last week.  A little eclectic shabby chic but loved creating it with special features of remembering Dora.

I have decided to enter this card into two challenges
  • One is at We Do Doobadoo. which is a Shabby Chic challenge.
  • The other is a 'Celebration' #93 challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow.  Although my card is a bereavement card it is more a celebration of Dora's life with little mementos of a lady that was very special to her family. She loved flowers and fashion and when I first met her some 30 plus years ago she was enjoying a game of Housie (Bingo).
I have used Marian Smith patterned papers and mixed this with flowers, trinkets lace and some very old vintage bead trim from my stash.

Thanks  again for looking.  I will be back as I now have some new work to share.  I attended a 'Gabrielle Pollaco' layout class at retreat and also completed one of her recent kits which I am very pleased with.

Bye for now

Still no Scrapbooking,,,

But last weekend this was the creation that DD#3 had me help create.  A diaper cake for a friend who is to soon have a baby.

Quite funky with the colour of the Hairy Macleary nappies etc.

Tonight we have had visitors for tea so today's creations were a meal including this lemon and ginger stuffed salmon.
I also made a Nadia Lim Salad - Avocado, Pumpkin, Haloumi and Quinoa Salad , Hasselback potatoes and finished off with a Raw Mango Pineapple Cheesecake.  I didn't think to take a photo of the rest as I was too busy serving it but this was before the salmon was cooked.

Must get off to bed - lots to do today and must pack for the Raincliff Scrap Retreat next weekend.

Thanks for visiting .  Bye for now

Grandsons

Mrs Frizz has given me a little prod....  This time I see it has been 6 weeks since my last post but it is simply because I haven't been creating at all!!!  Sad I know because I love my hobby but just don't seem to have the spare hours at the moment.  However I have plans the next two weekends to get ultra organised for the 'Embellish It' Raincliff Scrap Camp on the 22 August so hopefully that will get the creative juices going again.

So today I will share some pages of my dear grandsons created a couple of months ago.  The first is of our Zac-asaurus who is dinosaur mad - he has certainly taught his Granny a thing or two about them I am still struggling with the pronunciation of some of the names - my excuse - with having three daughters we never got into Dinosaurs.

I had fun creating this one with the packaging off the box in which he received his Easter present - a plate, and mug with a dinosaur on it.  He also had a 'Dinosaur Egg Hunt' in our garden at Easter so that was just delightful.  In the photo above they were having an official photo shoot with a photographer and he was hunting for dinosaurs through the fence. The tags contain the story as well as a photo of an interview he had with his mother at age 2 yrs and 4 months where most of the answers related to Dinosaurs.

and the second page is of our dear wee Jake.  This was created with the inspiration from a Page Drafts Sketch from June.  Love those sketches.

Here is my take on the above sketch.

Jake is a happy placid little man - another absolute delight.  We were lucky enough to go for a visit in the weekend and babysat the boys on Saturday night which was wonderful despite the 5am start yesterday.  These photos were taken by the photographer at the photo shoot also - lovely autumn colours in Timaru's Centennial Park when they visited at Easter.

Promise I will be back in action some time soon.  I still haven't shared the photos from Autumn Escape's projects so still have them to post too.

Have a great week.

Until next time....

Crafting for all Seasons

It has been a while since I blogged.  Usually winter provides a great excuse to hold up in the scrap room under the bright light and create.  Just now it seems that my mojo is MIA again and Saturday's are recovery days from the previous week of work and cold nights are not encouraging me to warm up the scrap room and create either.

However a few weeks ago I did enjoy creating this 40th Birthday card with the Julie Nutting doll stamp.

I used a Prima tag and Kaisercraft papers, die cuts and tag left over from some time ago.  The small tag is removable and has the birthday message on it.

I must apologise for the photo which really needed brightening up a bit to do it justice but I am still not organised in the photo editing department since getting a new computer.

I have entered this in the 'Crafting for all Seasons' challenge with the title "Don't be Square"

Thank you for visiting my blog today - your visit is truly appreciated.

Until next time.....

Cardabilities #99

Cards were the creations in the weekend.  After visiting the Embellish It Crop I came home and created a Bereavement Card inspired by Cardabilities Sketch #99 and then decided to have a play with the scraps of the BoBunny range and created 5 mini cards.

It was fun using up the mainly Bo Bunny bits and pieces along with the Glitz paper used as the background for the large card. .

This is what I came up with.

 and the sketch.....
and now for the mini cards...

At long last it is great to have a stash of ready made mini cards 'just in case'.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. Your visit is much appreciated.   Happy Creating!!

Until next time

A Card or Two

Well the weekend came and went and the only creating that took place was a Mother's Day card for my Mum.  We had a lovely Mother's Day due to travelling to Oamaru to meet up with our three girls and two grandsons and J from Dunedin, and my Mum and Dad came too so it was a lovely celebration with four generations.  The dear little boys were just lovely as usual.

My computer has been a challenge tonight - trying to edit some photos but since I have a new 'Windows 8' computer my faithful photo editing programme 'Ulead'  is no longer available to me.  Has anyone got any suggestions of  user friendly photo editing software.  'Gimp' is downloaded but it is completely foreign.  So these photos are unedited.

Anyway here are a couple of cards - the first a 'Thank You' card made for the friend I stayed with recently.  Products were mainly Prima. Made at Autumn Escape.

and Mothers day card made with Prima Stationers Desk Collection.

I had made another 'Get Well' card while away but forgot to take a photo of it. My Best Wishes and healing thoughts will be with Aunty J as she undergoes major surgery this week.

That is all for today.  Hope your week is going well. Thank you for taking the time to visit today.  Would love to know you have been by leaving a comment.

Until next time....

M-I-A... and Ombre Dreams

Where has the last month gone.  I see it is more than a month since my last post.  Well I was lucky enough to attend Autumn Escape at Taupo and then have a little holiday in the Bay of Plenty afterwards so I have been creating but haven't taken any photos yet - it has been all go since returning home on Saturday and now it is back to work - busy busy.

Today I am going to post Blue Fern Studios Collection release and chance to win.

What a delicious collection.  In awe of these gorgeous papers.

Hopefully I will be back soon (by the end of the week) with some pics of the April creations.

Hope all is well in your part of the world.  Thank you for visiting today.

Trina's 3 Layout Class

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  How is your week going?  April already.

A few weeks ago I attended Trina McClune's class at Artful Crafts.  It was lovely to meet Trina again and she did not disappoint with the three lovely layouts she had designed for the class using the beautiful 'Something Blue' Prima papers and embellishments.

I didn't quite get the three finished in the 2 1/2 hours but enjoyed putting the finishing touches on at home.   It was also a good opportunity to get some more DD's wedding photos scrapped.  Here they are...

Layout #1 -

Layout #2 - I liked how this one could be this way or as Trina had it with the tags dropping down.  It worked well to include the Marriage Celebrant's folder and marriage certificate photo.  However another reason for attending the class was to rekindle my mojo and I found I was more out of touch than I thought when I realised I had created the page on the reverse side of the bazzill card (lol) so to add a bit of texture I put on some gel paste with a 'Tim Holtz' mask and added some iridescent paint so the page did not look as flat.   Also love that punch at the bottom - unfortunately not one in my collection.

and some closeups.  Love the little resin butterflies.
and the Mr and Mrs buttons - perfect for this page.

Layout #3 - And Trina did it again with this lovely design.  Those gorgeous doilies Trina gave us were put to extra use with the circle photo at the bottom.

The alpha are painted with iridescent paint to give them the more wedding type flavour.

And once again love those cute little frames.

Thanks Trina for a great class.

Well that is all for today.  Until next time.....
