21st Celebration

We have returned home after a lovely weekend with our daughters, grandson and 6 of DD#3's friends celebrating her 21st.  Over the past few years I have been working on an album for E's 21st - it has turned into two albums and is a work in progress - 50 or so pages so far.  On Friday E took the opportunity to Bungy at the Gondola and then she and her sister also Paraponting from the top of the hill and enjoyed the experience so the scrapping opportunities continue.

Here is the card I made for the occasion.

Note:  Her name is Esther but she spells her name Esta and as it fitted better on the card I used the shortened version on the card and full version on the message inside.   The lettering is my new favourite scrapping medium - Martha Stewart moulds and clay.  I think the alpha are going to be very versatile. The moulds and clay are available through Embellish It .  Papers are mainly Bo Bunny with a little Websters.
The '21' is Tim Holt's Grunge letters (inked).  The key is Tattered Angels.
The heart is Kaiser Craft covered in liquid pearls.
The bow is vintage ribbon.  As she was in transit the day of her actual  birthday we did not send flowers so a little bunch on the card had to suffice.

I made a side opening card for a change but just made use of the papers to cover the inside.  Rubons are Kaiser Craft.

After making fancy cakes almost every year for the last 20 this time the cake was made by a friend of the girls, Z of  Arbitrary Cakes.
The topic "Hunger Games" was new to me but it is a favourite book of Esther's and she was thrilled with her cake.

The bird was amazing.  Take a look at more fabulous cakes here

And speaking of amazing cakes take a look over at Rachel's blog and the special cake and card she made for a special family occasion.

Well must away for to catch up on some sleep.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

Until next time .....

Prima Birdie Card

Today is 21 years since my youngest DD was born - where has the time gone?  HAPPY BIRTHDAY E.  (Card still to be made!! - we will catch up in the weekend).

However I have made another card for a birthday today so will post that one in the meantime.  As I said in a previous post my mojo was on a go slow over the weekend but I was pleased with the outcome of this one .... in the end.
Papers are Prima Fairy Belle Collection along with Prima large flowers and resin bird.  The smaller flowers are Wild Orchids and the leaves from a Cherry Lynn die.
The paper doily is sprayed with Cranberry Glimmer Mist. The rubon is Kaiser Craft.
 Above - the inside

Some vintage lace was also added.   The photos were taken in a bit of a hurry as we headed out to a movie - a very rare occurrence for us.   "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" provided a lot of laughs on a Sunday afternoon.

If you are in the Timaru area this Saturday Embellish It is having a Crop Day at the Highfield Hall in Rimu Street.  Contact Joanne if interested in attending.

Thank you visiting my blog today.  Have a good week.

Until next time....

Saturday update

We had a lovely winter's day here in South Canterbury today - the sun was shining and my house got some long overdue attention - windows washed, ironing basket emptied, along with lots of cleaning and tidying.  I am now exhausted but it is all worth it in the end.  And last but not least - after tea I even tidied my scrap room so I have a clean slate for very shortly.

Thank you and welcome to my new followers - I see the number has grown over the last few weeks.

Today I am sharing a layout I did a couple of weeks ago using My Minds Eye papers.

It was created using a Liz Qualman sketch - here.  For the circle border I punched strips with a Martha Stewart punch then snipped them at 1cm intervals to curve around the circle.  Once again finished with a favourite at the moment - liquid pearls.
Flowers are mainly Wild Orchids and the diecut Cherry Lynn.

Must away and get started on a card or it will be too late.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend and finding time for some creativity.

Until next time....

A Sympathy Card

This week I have made a Sympathy card and sadly it will be in the post tomorrow.  This card was made with Prima Botanical Collection PP, Prima flower and alpha.  Other flowers are from Wild Orchids as are the pearls so I will enter it in the "Anything Goes" competition over at Wild Orchid Challenge.

Martha Stewart punches were used for the border and also a leaf punch to make the little leaf wreath.

I love the rose trim.  A paper doily was also included in the layering.

Note:  I didn't realise that my Scrapbook.com gallery was not linked properly.  I am pretty sure it is now fixed.  It works fine on my computer but it wasn't on other computers.  Please let me know if it is still not linked.

Thank you so much for visiting today.  Hope your week is going well.

Until next time ....

Celebration

Where have the last two weeks gone?  I have been creating albeit slowly (the mojo is on a go slow).  Last weekend my scrapping day turned into a preserving day after giving the freezer a long overdue clean out and finding apricots and berries which were not going back in so made apricot sauce and jam and berry jam.  My intentions were to make some fancy labels/covers for them but after a week this had not happened so into the cupboard they went. You can see that the thought was there - I did cut one cover out lol.

This weekend I headed to the deep South to celebrate my Auntie's 70th birthday.  It was lovely catching up on aunt's, uncles, cousins and their families together with the friends whom I stayed with.  I always love visiting Invercargill and the folks there.  The worst part is the long trip home especially if it has to be done in one go but the highlight of the journey home was meeting up with my three daughters and grandson for a coffee in Dunedin on the way home.  That certainly made Mother's Day and they spoiled me - I can look forward to a massage next time I am down there.

Today I will share the birthday card created with Prima Fairy Belle papers and a Prima fabric flower cut from a strip.  The papers were left from a layout I will share soon.

The little hearts are from Prima.
Thank you for visiting today, and those who closely follow my blog apologies for the two week gap since my last post. (Promise I will not leave it so long this time.  Thank you E for your lovely verbal comments in the weekend.  It would be nice to know who follows my blog but hasn't yet taken the plunge leave a comment or become a follower so I challenge you to leave a comment and let me know you are watching.

Wishing  you all a great week.  Wrap up warm (if here in NZ) as we are in for a bad patch of weather.

Until next time....
