What a week weather wise! I don't like having cold feet again though, however when creating I don't even notice what is like outside.
Not a lot to report but I will leave with you my creation from Crop for a Cause from last Saturday. It is my entry in the Prima BAP for May. I have just resubmitted it as in my original submission the photo must have been too big as it has not appeared since sending it last Sunday.
Cute sparkly eyed ruby a few months ago.
Keep Warm.
Until next time.

Crop for a Cause
I had a lovely day at the crop made more special by my penfriend, Penny, (since about 13 yrs old) coming all the way from Tapanui to join us and stay the night.
Becks and her team put in a tremendous effort. We arrived to a room ablaze with pink and a helium filled balloons tied to each chair and a big pink goodies bag at each place. Table decorations were supplied by La De Da. We had delicious morning and afternoon teas and several 'make and takes' during the day. Our Mayor, Janie Annear was the judge of the decorated bra competition and there were some amazing entries. In the next few days Becks will put photos up on the 'Crop for a Cause' blog. 70 people had a full on fun scrapping day and this one person is pretty jaded but happy today. I was even lucky enough to win a couple of raffles - Some Jenny Bowlin product and also access to Tarisota's very first Style Studio - how exciting is that?
Here are some pics of Penny and my entries in the bra competition. Both took many hours to create but we both thoroughly enjoyed the challenge.
Penny quilted her bra and made it in memory of Karen. It came boobs and all. lol
Mine was in memory of my grandmother Peg (MumMum to me) and I included a doily she had crocheted which had a hole in it but I knew it would be put to good use one day. I included a photo printed on canvas, old beads, a vintage collar and some lovely black lace and braid given to me by my auntie, Lynn (thanks Lynn it was lovely to use it on this project) . I made some flowers for the back from silk fabric and cut out some leaves from a doily.
The special coat hangers were made by my mother as a Christmas gift a couple of years ago. At the time she made them for all her daughters and granddaughters.
That's all for today. On to the next project.

My Creative Space
I have been creating but cannot show you just yet. A few weeks ago I moved to a bigger space. I moved from a space 3 metres x 1.8 metres with 2 desks and 2 sets of shelves (not much room left) to a 5 x 4 metre bedroom and I just love being in there. I spent many hours over the weekend in my scrap room so it no longer looks like this but will show the tidy photos of when I moved it around.
And now I have added my apron creation from Autumn Escape and found a use for the fan that always seemed to be in the way before.
However now I am on the lookout for a wire mannequin to display other altered pieces but this will do in the mean time. (Still haven't created the strawberries to go on it yet but will!)
Back in March I went to our local Raincliff Retreat weekend (next one coming up in August) and created lots of pages with lovely Prima products. Here is one of my favourites.
This was a first attempt at a spiral paper flower. Must have some more practice but the rugged bits add character - lol.
Until Next time.

It's the Weekend
Yay - finally a day at home and so much to do - there is the decorated bra for next weekend's "Crop for a Cause" . I am really looking forward to a fun day and my friend Penny coming all the way from Tapanui. Beck Caithness is a wonderful organiser and it is sure to be an enjoyable day for all.
Up2Scrap Magazine's latest issue is due out any day. Look out for it in the shops this week.
I got a nice surprise on the Prima blog yesterday. My entry in the April BAP got a mention. I was not happy with the photo which I took at night as the deadline loomed so have taken another today which I hope looks much better. It is still hard to do some layouts justice in a photo as they look much better in hard copy.
Have a great weekend everyone. Thanks for visiting.

Mothers Day
I hope you had an enjoyable Mother's Day. As we were away from home I received Mothers Day text wishes from each of my three daughters. This was the vista I had for Mother's Day. We spent the night celebrating a friend's birthday at Lake Alexandrina after a soak in the Hot Pools at Lake Tekapo and woke to a glorious day on Sunday.
I will leave you with the card created very quickly before we left on Saturday.
Have a great week. Thanks for looking.
Until next time.....

Welcome To My Blog
Well here goes... I have been pondering a blog for some time - and now that we finally have Broadband in our area there is no excuse but I suppose I have been a bit hesitant as I keep thinking "What will I have to say...?".
However I see my blog as a way of networking with others with a passion for Scrapbooking and paper crafts, being able to share ideas and feedback.
I have been a scrapbooker since 2005 and have a passion for heritage. In 2010 I am on the Elite Team for Up2Scrap magazine and enjoying the challenges as they arrive. You may wish to join in with the monthly challenges on the Up2Scrap blog.
As a new blogger bear with me while I learn about links, blinkies, archives, galleries, labels etc.
As promised to Bronwyn and Rachel (Embellish It) I will leave you with my latest creation - a Mothers Day Card for my mother. Thanks to Bronwyn giving me the image to get started and both of you for your continued encouragement.
Have a great weekend
